Georgetown fires coach Escherick

I am rather surprised that Georgetown fired Esherick today for his 13-15 season. I believe he deserved firing, only 1 NCAA Tournament appearance since he took over for Coach Thompson in the late 1990's, and this season which breaks Georgetowns 28 consecutive appearances in postseason tournaments as well as 25 consecutive seasons reaching the Big East Tourney quarter finals. He has basically run the basketball program into the ground! But they just signed him to a huge extension before this season, which was set to expire in 2009! So I was surprised they would give up on him after signing him to such a long deal. Hopefully they can find a quality replacement to return a winning program to the court!
