Just ordered my base Vibe with 16" aluminum rims. What tires can I expect to see on them? I've heard they are Good~Year, but which model of tire is it? How do the stock Good~Years ride? I'm thinking of swapping the tires when the car is delivered to the dealer. I like Michelins and a swap at delivery might not cost too much. What d'ya think?

The tread design is a little different between the two, but both provide all-season performance. The 17" rims (P215/50ZR/17 summer tires) come with Dunlop SP Sport 9000's :: INFOquote: like Michelins and a swap at delivery might not cost too much. What d'ya think? If you really want the Michelin's, go for it. However, I am personally just going to ride out the factory tires before I replace them and/or upgrade to larger rims.
quote:What is a Z rated tire?A Z-Rated tire is what they put on the 17" rims for the Vibe. They are higher performance, higher speed capable.Check the link from Dunlap (click here) to read more on the Z-rated tire. The Z-Rated tire is essentially made for wet or dry traction (no snow.. well safely, that is).
My Vibe has the Continentals on it. I noticed that the other Vibe that arrived with mine on the dealer lot had Goodyears. Only difference between the two Vibes was mine is 5-speed, the other was auto and color (salsa vs. neptune). I'm in Canada, so I don't think that makes a difference.
I have continental's as well but I haven't used them yet. I put my 18 inch wheels with Nitto ZR- rated tires the very next day after I bought the car.I never had continentals before so I hope they will ride well in the snow
Base Vibe, base 16" steel wheels, Good Year RS-A tires. They were on there for only 50 miles. Replaced by aftermarket 17" aluminum wheels and Falken tires.
