I've never heard of Britts, but I have knowledge of Amway. It's a legal pyramid scheme (you sell stuff, and recruite people under you to sell stuff, you get a certain % of their sales. The more people you have under you, the more you make, and the more money your sponsor (or whatever they're called) makes too).IMO, it verges on a cult. They are very good at pursuading you into their way of thinking, and using all of these "positive visualization" techniques to get what you want. My 2nd cousin was in pretty deep. He had a picture of this really nice sports car taped to the bathroom mirror, with some sort of slogan like "if you dream it, you'll believe it" written underneath it. How on earth he's going to be able to buy that car selling dish soap & mosquito repellant (2 of the most popular products that they sell), I'll never know. Also, from my experience, it seems to be the religious types that get mixed up in Amway. IMO, it's the same sort of devout personality that makes you a very religious person in the first place, and these sorts of organizations capitalize on that. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with being religious, I'm just saying that religious people fit into a broad category, and this same broad category includes Amway reps.Well, I should probably shut up before I offend anyone or get in trouble, but ... unless you really want to sell stuff to your friends, family & neighbours, I'd stay away. If you like their product, buy it from your friend, to help her out, but avoid becoming a rep yourself just because "you'll get a better deal" because once you're signed up, you're pressured to get the pyramid growing.

well, they are trying to move away from "amway" and now it's quixtar. i have at one time sold this and used their products. in fact some of our close family friends do very well with it and have quite a few people under them. i see no diff between them or mary kay sales people... their products are good, but as far as becoming an IBO, i would say it's tough. unless you like to just walk up to someone and say, hey! come to my seminar, it'd be difficult. but my folks signed up so we could get better prices on their products and vitamins. we prob hit our little goal every other month or so... but whatever. they just don't sell it themselves.so, guess depends on what you are looking to do. sell and try and recruit, or just use their products for personal use.
I am not sure if britts worldwide is related to amway/quixtar but some google searches of britts worldwide led me to lots of references towards amway. The person REALLy wants me to get involved in this and like I said I trust this person but I am not sure if I am liking getting involved in this. HmmmmmThanks for the feedback I value the opinions of members of the board very much

the britt family funded and founded amway a long time ago... that's why you see britts world wide refering to amway.well, for some it suits them well and others not so well. is she wanting you to go to a seminar? i know that's what we did. it doesn't hurt to go to the seminars then you can make a more educated decision on what you think of the whole thing. not saying you should or shouldn't but maybe hear your friend out and find out what she is wanting you to do exactly before you say no. just mho
My mom was an Amway rep for a while a few years back. She got my uncle into it for a while, too. They got out of it in less than a year I'd say. It was kind of a pain. But if you like going around selling all kinds of products to people that you do and don't know, then go ahead. I remember that our house was full of all kinds of Amway products. When my friends came over, they'd see the stuff and be like "what the heck is that stuff?". It was kinda embarassing having "weird" stuff around the house when you're just becoming a teenager and the peer pressure and desire to fit in is real high. And TRD is right, it is almost like a cult thing. And they do put a lot of pressure on you to grow your pyramid.

This is all making sense, she is pretty religious and a pretty good person who I still claim to be pretty gullable in some respects. There is a conference taking place in my area in a few weeks and she is begging me to attend. I said I will but mostly or the sake of hanging out saying hi and stuff but my wife and I are sooo not interested in these types of things.
