I was wondering what is the biggest off set you can go on a Vibe? I'm lookin at a set of wheels and they are +42mm offset. Just not sure the clearance on the strut. Don't wanna put down that much $ and have them not fit or even rub in the corners. Thank you. http://www.motegiracing.com/wh...desc=
You should have plenty of clearance on a 7" wide wheel with 42 mm offset, OutLaW. I have 10" wides with 38 mm offset, leaving the inner flange 34 mm or ~1-3/8" further inboard than yours would be.
Ok, thanks for the info. LOL. I think I should have plenty of room. I'd measure all this stuff if I only HAD my car already! It'll be here in a couple of weeks. Ordered it 1 month and 1 week ago today. grrrr, takes too long!
Hey, thanks for the info guys. Whats prolly the wides rims you'd be able to stuff under your car? I see you put 10" under yours. How far are you from the strut?
I'm not the only Viber with a 45mm offset cause I know someone else who has the same rims on their Vibe as I do. Of course I found out later after I bought mine. Guess someone else out there had great tastes.

How far are you from the strut? Most people would say 8" is about as wide as you can go, but as mentioned, I shoe-horned in 10" with 275/40 x 17"s. They are 4-3/4" pattern Chev wheels that I already had, so I built adaptors which give a net offset of 38 mm. The clearance to the struts and inner fender wells is only ~3/8", but I've had no scuffing there. I did have to remove my Tein springs however. Especially on the front the combination of a 2"+ drop and seven sizes wider than stock tires was just too much! If I was starting from scratch, I'd likely go for maybe a 235 or 245 on an 8" wide wheel.
bigger the number the more the wheels are set in the wheel well...the smaller the more the will stick out. I'm probably gonna go with either a +35 or +38 to bring the wheels flush with body. The stock seem to be inset a little more than my liking.
