new HU

Post by drw2514 »

Okay, so I'm ready to upgrade my HU, along with an entire new audio setup. My question is this: I want to get a HU that will allow me to plug my iPod into it, either by RCA or a 3.5mm jack. Has anybody done this before? Have any suggestions for good HUs that are capable of this? The HU I'm leaning toward getting is the Sony F5700X. Input is appreciated.http://sm.crutchfield.com/S-42...avf=N

Not familar with Sonys. Seem to be mixed feelings here.Personally, I have a Pioneer and would never hesitate to buy one again. You can use the auxilary input, you just need a inexpensive adapter, but it has a long enough cable so you can run the RCAs into the glovebox or something.

Is that aux standard on all pioneer HUs? I don't know how to tell if a HU has an aux that is compatible with what I want or not. How do you tell?

The auxilary port is multifunctional. You can plug in RCA ports, a CD changer, an XM tuner, etc. In the case of Pioneer, if it says it has an auxilary port, it will be compatible with the RCA adapter.

There will definitely be pictures of my new HU and speakers when I'm done. I love looking at all the other installs from other genvibers. I'ts given me a lot of ideas, especially because I'm new to all this. I've had the car two years and haven't done a thing to it! It seems like such a waste! Not that the vibe is bad as-is, it's an awesome car. There's just so much to work with!
