a spoiler question for those in the know, maybe GM/pontiac employees.

Post by oolunchbox »

So ive decided that i really want the spoilers and maybe the whole spport package for my vibe. when i got it (09/27/03) the dealership had a vibe on the showroom floor with the sport package but my salesman had no knowledge of it or the prices he said somethinbg about how it had just come in. im wondering if i'd be able to get the spoilers or package and just add it to the cost of my car or if id have to pay for it seperately. i'd prefer to spread it out with my payments so i could actually afford it.anyone know?thanks-LuNCH

You can buy the complete package in pieces later on from the parts department. They would come unpainted though. I can get the rear spoiler for about $300 though my parts department and painted for about another $70 in our body shop. I wanted the whole package when I bought my Vibe but that was a lot more expensive then if I buy and paint/install in sections. If your looking to keep your payments on your Vibe low like I was, skip that package, buy it in pieces as you can afford and then install when you have the whole thing. You can go with one or both spoilers for the rear. I'm going with the upper one for now I believe.

It would be cheaper if you got it as part of your lease/buy terms. That way you can "spread the cost" along the amount of months that you finance. Or you could do what mavrik says. Mine came as a package already on the car!

Or your GM dealer's body shop? How much do you think it would cost to install it? Basically, is there any way you can hook me up on the paint job? lol

I would install the body kit myself but would have them mount the spoiler since it would probably require drilling into the body and I'm not into risking my skills on that lol.

Well every body shop is different, check with a local shop to see if they will paint it for you. Might even get a better deal then I will. Otherwise I bet if I did not work at the dealership, I would probably be paying at least $100 or more. Now I am not at work, maybe tomorrow I'll have parts price the whole thing out for me at list for me to post here since I know what I get off listed price and can do that for myself lol

I wish I was in Missouri, my cousin owns a body shop up there and I could get a nice paint job for the cost of the paint/overcoat ><

Well Parts can price me out the spoiler... However they can not price me out the sports appearance facsia and all that... Apparently it can be found only by using a VIN that had the package on it. My VIN won't bring up anything but the regular stuff. Now this could all change later but at the moment...So I can price out all of this stuff, but need the VIN from someone's Vibe with it already on there. You can then order the parts under that VIN, get them shipped to your location however and its all good...
