Injen installed

Post by redlava »

Finally got my intake installed this weekend. My Dad and I installed it in about 2 hours, would have been 1.5 but I accidentally knocked a wrench off the valve cover and it got stuck inside the car. So we had to drag the jack into the garage from the machine shed and grope around until we found it wedged in the frame. Other than that things went well. After we got it in and the car was running, it was making a very loud sucking noise, my Dad looked at me and asked if it was supposed to sound like that. I said I think it did because nothing is falling off and no lights are on on the dashboard. It quieted down after a few minutes of warming up.Took it out for a test drive and it ROARS around 3500 to 5000 RPM. Can't wait to hear it coupled with the exhaust I ordered. If it ever arrives. It has been sitting in Virginia for the last week and hasn't moved. Fedex is going to get a call from me to find out what the hell is going on. Here are a few pics.

By the way you will hear that sucking noise everytime you turn on your car (if its been off for a while) it goes away after it warms up I was worried when mine did the same but asked and its normal. Congratulations welcome to Injen family.

Did you buy this with the Injen CAI? If not, anyone think it would be a wise thing to get or not enough room?

No room for it. If the fog lights weren't there you might be able to squeeze it in. It was hard enough trying to get the filter on without having something in the way. You shouldn't need it anyway, it is pretty well protected from water unless you do something stupid.

My Vibe is not an off road vehicle, its going nowhere near pools, lakes, oceans and the like as far as driving into it lol.

not even close to having enough room for that! even w/ my a/m fogs, i still just barely have enough room to put the piece of plastic i screwed in behind the fog so i didn't have to worry about water logging.
