2000 Cavalier complaint or problem website?

I asked about this before but I couldn't find the thread. Two friends of mine both had their fuel pumps fail within 2 weeks of each other on their 2000 cavalier and 2000 sunfire. I know there is a site for these unfortunate owners but I can't find it. If you have any additional info on this problem, I would like to hear from you. Thanks

ya there a gm bulletin on this the gauge is off sothe pump is ran dry causing it to fail

I traded my 2000 Sunfire in on my Vibe. I did really like the sunfire but it was self-destructing in the last year or so and with only 68K when I traded it in. I am a member of J-body.org, they may be able to help you as others suggested. Good Luck!

Hey Everybody,I noticed in other forums that many of us are former J body owners. My '94 Cavy 2.2 died in Nov. prompting me to buy my Vibe. Has anyone else who owned a J body attempted replacing a cylinder head? If so could you give me some pointers? I've got most the accessories removed and am close to pulling the old head. I'm working on getting a junk yard one for $90. Does this sound reasonable?Thanks guys.

leave the intake on (unbolt the bracket on the back intakethat goes down to the block)remove the front brackets ,fuel line etc remove the rocker arm and pushrods (mark a box with hole so they go back in the same postion.thats about it , just did one on my s10what wrong with your head?

you have to torque everthing to specs but no the cam does all that clean all you surfacesuse new head gasket the piston is not crack and the cylinder is no scrached right?keep and eye on that timing chain if it jumps a tooththey take out a valve so watch it ,steve

It's overhead valve so I don't think I have to worry about that. I wondered about TDC. Maybe my book will show me, it can be pretty vague though. I worry that the piston may be scored. But I figure if it is and it's wrecked, at least I tried to fix it. I can't do a complete engine swap becuase I live in an apartment. If I had a house I probably would have swapped the engine in my driveway. But then I never would have gotten the Vibe. Much, Much better car in every way. It's not costing me anything but time to tear it down. I'm really curious about what the bottom half will look like. I feel so sad about this car. I had it 9 years and took awesome care of it. I think it has alot more life left in it. I would hate to just junk it. It was my first new car.If I can fix it I'll try to keep it around for a few more years.

ok good luck you don have to worry a about timing if you just doing the head,1. dis igntion 2. you dont have the timing chain offso you can put the head back on with the pistons at any position

That was my biggest worry from the get go on this. I hope I can get the old girl running again. Though I can't afford to insure it with the Vibe payment.
