Dash/center console construction

Post by ullbergm »

I know there was a great post with pictures showing how to take most of the dash/center console out of the car but i cant find it.Basically im looking to see how much space there is behind the inverter power socket. im trying to see if it will be posible to mount a small radioshack cb radio there.

http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5940it tells you how to remove the shifter console, but includes steps involving removal of the trim you indicated.

There's a TON of space back there...not sure if it'd be enough for you, but it's a pretty nice cavernous space... It's holding my Line-level converter, the brain to my cellphone kit, and a few other random boxes.

Once you have the part of the dash that covers that space off (the plastic around the shifter and the AC controls), i'd do a fit test.. I don't think you'll have a problem with those seven inches..but i'd definitely try it before you make any modifications..
