Springs need to know everything

Ok, I need to know all I can about springs to lower my Vibe GT. I have been looking at the Eibach under the mod section of the web site. I know they lower about a 1.5 inches, I know it improves performance. What I want to know is how much does it cost, parts labor, everything? Are there any other pluses for having it besides looks and handling? And are there any down sides to it, such as tire ware, brake ware, goes out of alignment faster, shocks ware quicker, I don’t know just anything like that? Has anyone had any problems with tire rubbing the tire well on the inside? I know this makes the ride rougher, just how much rougher are we talking I know there is not easy way to quantify this but just give me an idea. And is there anything else I should know before I lay the money down. Thanks Train

well which springs should i get i have no clue at all. and how much money are we talking for the springs and labor i looked at the one forum there in no way i can do dyi but thanks for the suggestion

if you can remove the struts and take them to the local parts store like auto zone they will change the springs for around $15.00 each. the dealer didn't say a word (other than they thought it looked cool) when i had the alignment checked on mine so i don't think it will void any warranty.

I have the Eibach Pro-kit which dropped it about 1.5 all around. I am extremely happy with the performance. The look is a little subtle. Most people won't quite notice the drop, but if you're used to how it sits, when you do drop it, you'll see. The Vibe has a tall ride height, so when you put these springs on, it closes the wheel gap to more of a sports car size. The ride quality is a little noticeable, but it doesn't bother me at all. It is still a lot better than riding on bump stops. I payed about $200 for mine and installed them myself. Hope this helps.

I have Tein S.Techs. Paid $100 for a used set (thanks to rtrac1!). Will have them installed this spring with some help. Supposed to give a 2.1 - 2.5 drop...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

I have Tein S-Tech springs, also. I love them. I got them for $80 shipped used. I did the install myself.If you read the forums, esp the Matrix ones, you will find that alot of people didn't like the new height of the Pro-lines. If you want a big drop, go with Tein or Eibach Sportlines. If you are looking to maintain a fairly soft, factory ride, then go for the Prolines.Call around the shops for a quote, but most shops are gonna charge you between $150-350. It's a pretty broad range, but there are varying degrees of theft in the mechanic business I had my vibe 16 months before installing the springs, and now I look for excuses to go for drives. They really make the drive alot more fun, esp. with an air intake

I've been looking into the Ground Control coil-overs. You can adjust the ride height with them. This way I could get bigger tires to fit and still drop the car. I can just adjust them if the tires rub. You can raise them back up to stock height in the winter too, if you want more ground clearance because of snow. A few members on here have them already and have said that they liked them.According to their website http://www.ground-control.com they drop the car 1.5 to 2.75 inches and list for $419. I think that includes all 4 plus new shocks.

No problems with shocks, but they've only been on a few weeks. From everything that I have read, new springs will not significantly reduce the life of the shocks.If the shocks do go, then I'll have to get a set of coil-overs

That looks excellent. The monotone white with dark tinting is very clean. Definitely Teins are in my future.
