The Sc will not necessary destroy the tranfert case, but it could damage it.

I can only speak from what I know of Toyota and TRD.. not of GM. First of all I have several emails stating that Toyota does not approve the SC for the 4wd Matrix. HOWEVER, TRD says it will work. Some dealerships are selling the SC as approved for the 4wd. If a warranty issue came up, I have papers from this dealer stating the TRD SC was sold for a 4wd Matrix. It would be a holy hassle, but that dealer would have to warranty repairs if damage would occur.I feel confident the 4wd drivetrain can handle the power. Read this thread for an in depth analysis. http://www.matrixvibe.net/foru...=4243 Furthermore the 4wd Trix/Vibe has taller gear ratios which prevents the 4wd from engaging all that much to begin with. As I mentioned to ilquikgtx in an email, I highly recomend a custom exhaust and a transmission cooler.Looks like im gonna have a cousin now!

Hey greenfire i will get some 411 from a toyota dealer i deal with down here in chicago , Ive talk to the guy down here and told them about on the trd web site and they told me if they have the car listed on that part number they do not see why they would not warr. the car so frist i will print that and keep it cause if push came to shove you can use that document in court. But i hope i dont need to go that route. Thanks for all the 411 that you gave me also i looked at the unit and looks real easy to install just will take some time cause i want to do it right, and make it look like factory. The price i got was throgh a friend that worked for gm and got me hooked up , If you guys want i can see if he can do a group buy for people here.I plan in installing it next weekend , I just want to go over the instrustion a few times to make sure i dont miss a thing and if i have questions i can call a few people or email them (greenfire) (the cousin) I cant wait to put it in now my car wont be a dog it will be way more fun to drive.John

Well the labor charge is where we run into the problem. I called the part dept. and $2400 for the SC then I asked about labor. I get transfered to another dept where I guess they do the labor I ask about it and he says "ohh well not sure havent had anyone ask this one let me get your phone number. I need to ask about this so I will call you back" waited and didnt recieve a call from them. This happened 2 times so far so I guess ill call again when I have the money to pay for it.

Sweet deal, looks like I'll have to get one. And yeah the power should be better on the 5spd which was why I thought it was weird they would make one for the auto only. Glad to know I'm not being left out.

Is it the same part number as the one for the auto tranny? The last dealer I asked said they didn't know there was one out for the auto tranny, let alone for the manual.

I checked with my parts department at work about the parts number but she doesn't have it either. She also said it would void my engine warranty? I may have to check higher up because I don't understand how something GM makes for your vehicle would then void the warranty on your vehicle?

Thats weird since they warranty it for 3 years if they do the install 1 year if you do it yourself.

I do not think she knew what she was talking about. She and I both read the article about it like months ago when it was first announced but I can't find that article in my desk. She hasn't read it since then so I don't blame her.Maybe I'll call another dealer and see what information they have. Maybe they have the article still... Yeah if GM is warranting it for 3 years, it should not void the vehicle... Yup I need to get more info and then the costs for me in Canadian funds with my GM discount.

I just wonder how much time it requires to install. I probably won't have Pontiac installing the supercharger. I already have 20k miles, so even if Pontiac installs it, I only got 16k miles on the warranty, no big deal. I will have my regular shop install it. but not sure how many hours GM puts down, so I can get a rough idea.someone selling on ebay for $2,700http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...77569

You would think that they would know something as simple as a price, but in my dealings with GM there ineptitude never ceases to amaze me. It took me a month of calling dealers and GM direct customer assistance, as well as e-mailing GM Performance parts and GM Accessories just to find out if the SC was available. It was a simple yes or no question, but I was passed on from one GM place to another, without ever getting a straight answer. Here is one of my favorites .I e-mailed faq@pontiac.com saying that I own a 2003 Base Vibe with 5-spd manual transmission and wanted to know if the SC was available for this model. Here was their response"Thank you for contacting Pontiac and for your interest in the 2004 Pontiac Vibe! The Base Model Vibe comes standard with the 1.8L VVT-i, 4-cylinder FWD - 130 HP engine. It does not have available the engine the Vibe GT has, 1.8L VVTL-i, 4-cylinder 173 HP."Why would I have any interest in a 2004 Vibe when I own a 2003 already. I know perfectly well that the Base and GT have completely different engines. They didn't even read the damn e-mail . I don't know if GM management keeps all their different divisions in the dark, or if they are really just that apathetic. We are a customer wanting to buy one of their products, it should not be this difficult. I mean they have had press releases on the product and list it on their Vibe Accessories website.Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. And if anyone finds a price better than the MSRP of $2995- let us know. I’ve seen the TRD ones for as little as $2550 at trdperformance.com

Gotta hand it to you tbm34 you sure know how they work. Check this one out.Well no response from Pontiac so I called the 1800 # for GM thinking they will for sure give me a price and what do they do? They call my local dealer (while im on hold) and ask them. Then she gets back on the phone and tells me Angel is working on it and he will call me when he gets the information. Well no **** I told her the sitiuation thats why I called her. Useless people.

For $2400 you can buy a used 69-70 Firebird that would blow the doors off of any supercharged Vibe. Which in my opinion would be money well spent!! If they dropped the price to under $1000 I might think about it.

Its weird you say your installing that on your awd Vibe? every bit of information I have read has contradicted the other so much. I had read awd was not available, your proving them wrong. Now we gotta get a 5spd installed. Who cares about suspension hop? lol a lot of you guys don't even have stock suspension anymore.

Don't foget to check you belt for rubbing on the edges of the SC pulley. Check it every so often for the fist week or so, you may need to add or remove a shim. Keep us updated! Also it takes a long time for the ECU to adjust to the SC.
