I am going to paint the calipers, but which color i don't know?I have a abyss with gunmetal motegis, i like the red, not sure if it will stand out too much though? I also like the gloss black, not sure whether it will be noticable enough though?Any opinions wantedThanks
Hi mrgrn...Yeah, I'm having this same dilema. Though my concern is less with them standing out too much as the quality of the color I'm hoping to use.I would think any bright color just wouldn't work with your choice of wheels and abyss. You're keeping everything rather dark, bright calipers would look out of place. You might want to do what I was considering and getting a Gold or a Silver instead of a normal color. With the Gunmetal, Silver might conflict too much but I still think it would be better than a brighter red or yellow. Black would get lost in the wheel. You wouldn't notice it as much.I think I'm going to try the Gold for myself. I think gold or some other metalic color would look good and look less obtrusive to the darker tones you've got going.Dave
thanks david.I think i am picking up some zinc plated rotors for the shiny look and the gloss black might go well with them, what do you think? Also what do you think about the shiny rotors? too much behind the wheels?
Heya...I think shiny would be great. Though I've heard most of the zinc plating rubs off within the first few hundred miles. The rest of the rotar will stay shiny but the place where the pads attach won't. That's why I wanted the Gold Calipers. Wanted (somewhat)shiney, didn't want bright. I think the GOld is a go for me though. Found some Enamel paint pens and some modeling paints that might work on my badges. I think I'll try the Gold G2 Caliper paint on the calipers then use the extra on the badge edges then apply the Black Reflective overlays from Grafxwerks... If the Gold doesn't come out right, I can always get a Gold touch-up or maybe this modeling paint to fix it then spray or brush clearcoat over it. I honestly love the brushed aluminum look to the badges but I think the Gold on black would be VERY hot!Dave
