Last Monday through Wednesday (12/22-24) I and three of my brothers went on a ski trip to Canaan Valley, WV in my Vibe. It was awesome! First time I had gone skiing in almost 11 years, since Germany. All four of us and our luggage fit fine. We had the seat split with skis on the driver side and two of my younger brothers had to sit close in the back. They said there was plenty of leg room, just not hip room. It was a three hour drive with lots of twists and turns through the mountains on route 55. We skied Tuesday in beautiful weather. It was probably in the 50-60s F. Very warm and clear blue sky. The slopes were great, some icy spots, but most was good. When we first got to the slopes, I noticed a lot of Pontiac advertising on all the ski racks. Quite a few Vibe advertisments and a couple for the Aztec. I took a picture of me with one of the Vibe signs. I'll post it as soon as I get them developed. I only crashed a few times, but each time it was because of people getting in the way. I don't know why some people decide to just sit in the middle of the trails! If you fall, get up and move to the sides asap. There were many people who were just relaxing, sitting there, getting in the way. Other than that, it was great!Wednesday we woke up with probably about 4" of fresh snow and it still coming down strongly. The slopes were empty probably because of it being Christmas Eve which left no lines at the lifts and we did not have to dodge people laying down in the middle of the trails. We were worried how the roads through the mountains would be, so we left early. As we were trying to leave the parking lot, it had a slight incline and the Vibe had a hard time getting grip. My Continental tires which are wearing out with 24k miles on them, were just spinning. It took me a few tries until I was able to grab the gravel and go. Leaving the resort, the main roads were well maintained, but we still had to be careful. Then it turned out once we got to the other side of the mountain, we found that the storm front stayed on that side. On the way home, there was no snow on the ground and the sky cleared up. That's cool how people who live out there can just drive a few miles and go from no snow, to several inches of snow and be able to go skiing in the mountains. I'll post some pics of this trip as soon as I get the rolls of film developed, so it may not be until next week. Anyone else go skiing in the West Virginia or Maryland area? This was my first time skiing in the states.Later,

Well, finally exactly one month later, I now have my photos developed. Here is a pic of me and my GT. Here is one of me and one of several Vibe advertisements. The sign says, "What would you do in a new Vibe?". They had a few different designs with snowboarders and something else. This is just a photo from the top of the mountain, overlooking the valley. I can't wait to go skiing again sometime soon.Later,
