Affordable 17'' snow tires

Post by FalconSki »

This is my 2nd winter with my Vibe GT. Although I love the car, I have never driven a WORSE vehicle in the snow. I realize the GT has performance tires and I need snows but here is my dilemma...Snows made in the size for my Vibe are hard to come by and what I do find are VERY expensive. Some even require 4 tires to be put on.Anyone know of some AFFORDABLE 17" tires for this car?Any help appreciated.

Very few companies make 17" snow tire.It will be cheaper for you to get 15 or 16" steel rims and snow tire then only the 17" snow tire.Plus you will not have to have change and rebalance (who can damage both tire and wheels) twice a year.

lol! no way! you will never find affordable 17" snow tires. i also highly recommend getting all 4. doesn't do you any good to have grip in the front and the have the back fishtailing! that'd be a complete waste of money! I got 4 studded 15 rims w/ Hancook winter radials P205/65/15 for $450 installed. then I got some nicer used alloy rims (trade out) for $40. when i priced 17's, they were just under $1000!
