some unrelated site questions

Post by joatmon »

1. Some forums display the "most users ever online" Is that info available for display here? Is there a way to tell the last time a user was online? 2. Does anybody want some more smileys/icons/emoticons? 3. Is there a way to set up a filter so that thread titles with the word "mature" don't show up in activethreads? 4. Any way to get people to cut back on the bad language, or at least keep it out of the actual Vibe related threads?

If you would like specific statistics, please IM me.Quote, originally posted by joatmon »Is there a way to tell the last time a user was online? The only statistic available to view is the last time a user posted (in their Profile), not when they were last online.Quote, originally posted by joatmon »2. Does anybody want some more smileys/icons/emoticons? If you have any specific emoticons you would like considered, let me know (post here, create a new post, etc. with the ideas). For performance standards on this forum, I'd probably only consider adding a maximum of 10 emoticons in addition to the ones currently in place.Quote, originally posted by joatmon »3. As a general rule, astericks (****) and partial astericks (he**o) are not appropriate for this forum. Please take that into consideration in future postings. Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the reply1. No biggie, just curious. The most I have seen on line I think was 21. Sometimes looking in the active users list, I'll see users I never heard of before. Looking at their profile, some have been long term members and haven't posted in a long time, saw some who have been members for a year and a half but have never posted. Nice to see that they are still coming back. Maybe there's some way to convince them to post again to say "Hi, I'm still paying attention to the site"2. Didn't think of any server impact, and don't have any in particular that I really feel need to be added. 3, 4. Fair enough. Here's another one:5. Was having an IM conversation with another member, and it seemed like I only got their IMs when I visited another link on the site. If I concentrated on writing an IM reply, when I did get around to looking at another thread, I would sometimes get a number of IM responses that had queued up. Is this normal? I can see where it would be that way, and now that I understand it , it will help me have more of an interactive conversation via IM. Before it was sort of disjointed.

Sorry - missed this part of your reply previously. The IM feature on this forum does not function as a regular realtime IM application (AIM, MSN, Yahoo, ICQ). Unfortunately you need to either refresh a page in the forum or visit other areas of the forum in order for the system to notify you of IM's.
