Removing window crank for 2004 vibe?

Post by Stone »

I need to take my door panels off and need to get the window cranks off. What is the best way to remove the cranks? What is the best way to pop the panel from the door with out tearing any up? I know about the few screws that need to be removed. Thanks.

Really, just yank at the panel and it will pop right off. Or, use a screwdriver to kind of lever it off.Shouldn't have any problems. Though some of the snaps may stick to the door instead of coming off with the panel. Make sure you remove them and reattach them to the panel before trying to reinstlal it. Otherwise, you'll be there forever. As to removing the crank, I can't help you, for I have power windows.

there is a clip that is U shaped behind the crank, the opening to the u is facing toward the handle, if you get behind the crank with a small screwdriver and push on the clip away from the handle it will pop loose and you can remove the handle. its quite easy just hard to explain, it hope this helps as far as the panel itself see the previous post just pull and lift gently it will pop right off.

Scherry2 & Ragingfish. Thanks for the info. I just wanted to make sure that they still use the clip method. Now just need some good weather to take the four doors apart to fix all the noise coming from them when I play the CD player. I know I can take it to the dealer , but I have the worst run of luck with car dealers when it comes to them fixing things & I don't like other people working on my cars. Again thanks. Stone
