2ZZ-GE SAE Technical Paper

Post by GTVibezzz »

Hello,Just figured you guys/gals may be interested in this paper...there's some VERY interesting information in it.I would like a bit of input from everyone about the Lock Pin versus Slipper Follower wear... It seems to me that this could be an issue 5-10 years down the road. Wear is unavoidable--even though it seems they have optimized the situation via using same material/finish/hardness. Enjoy and let me know what you think... Also, there's a nice 3D picture at this site (may make understanding some details a bit easier): http://www.corollaperformance.....html

Great post! Interesting, the 2ZZ was designed to fit into the same engine compartment as the base 1ZZ-FE, have equivalent vehicle performance as a 2.2 liter engine.*printing* Thanks....rasermon

Very interesting article. To me this really drives home the use of synthetic oil. I wouldn't want any oil coking in the passages.
