Only 70 Mercedes dealerships nationwide carry the $360,000 Maybach 62. Maybach buyers don't even have to mingle with the ordinary Mercedes shopper. The dealerships have established what they call studios to show off the new model. But the car is only there on a high-definition video screen. There are no demonstration models to test drive -- or even see firsthand. Brian Bucholtz, the Maybach manager at Mercedes-Benz of Bloomfield Hills said buyers have to put down a $50,000 deposit. Only then is the car put into production -- for delivery about six month later. By the way, sterling silver champagne goblets are an option.
