iBook G4

Post by Kari »

My gosh what a wonderful little machine. I got my new iBook G4 today, and boy am I ever impressed. The processor definitely makes a difference. I have less than half the RAM I had in my iMac, not even twice the processor speed, and it's way faster. I was afraid the 12" screen would bother me, but I haven't even really noticed the size difference between it and the iMac. If anyone is in the market for a new computer, maybe a Mac...I highly recommend this one!

At my daughter's school there is a pilot project in which every student entering grade 7 is given an ibook to use right through to the end of high school. It is to see if their average marks increase with the available technology of the ibook. We live in a rural area of Quebec where average incomes are very low and few students complete high school before entering the work force. It's only been a year so there are no results posted yet but it looks promising.

Okay, I will...what kind of problems should I keep an eye out for? Dead pixels or something else?I wish I had gone to a HS with a technology program like that -- they're very lucky kids. I'd say it will improve grades, because, at least to some, it makes learning less tedious. I type much faster than I write, so I can't wait to employ my new iBook in class.
