Denso IK20-5304 Installed in GT...Noticeable Improvement!

Post by retiredfields »

I installed Denso IK20 plugs in my GT several weeks ago. They are Iridium plugs, like the stock ones, but with a smaller tip.I can't explain it, but there is a noticeable improvement in performance. Smoother low end with increased torque, much smoother acceleration, and seems a little quicker. I also had a spot between 4000-5000 RPM where the engine would lag momentarily while accelerating. That is gone also. I am very surprised and pleased. They are $50 for four plugs, but I would recommend them to all GT owners.

Congrats on the improvement. Did the same 8 months ago. Noticed the same differences. A good upgrade. I'm glad to get some corroboration. I recommended this a while ago but got tired of defending it. Hopefully others will now try it and get a cheap effective upgrade on the GT.

Hmmm...interesting! How many miles did you have on your car when you changed them?

I had about 5,000. I am also getting a consistent 30+ MPG.

When you say smaller tip, do you mean the center electrode is shorter? Finer? What gap did you set, and what's the stock gap?
