MatrixOwners.com Tri-State Meet - RECAP

Post by ragingfish »

A fantastic meet yet again!Though there were only 4 Vibes, I had a blast (seemed everyone else did too!) and met some great people. Also got to witness firsthand the destruction of a perfectly good set of tires, when the owner decided to show off his drifting skills on the gravel parking lot. Very impressive. The cruise was awesome - great scenery, nice foliage, and some wicked twists in the road. Kept us on our toes!Saw great mods, Miss Juliana (AtWork) surprised us all with a 2" drop, nice ikon wheels, and some sweet kumho tires. Also, greenfire graced us with the presence of his SUPERCHARGED AWD Matrix! Yes folks, that's right, an AWD Matrix WITH a SUPERCHARGER. While I didn't get to rid in it, I hear it was awesome. I was lucky enough to scoop up a practically-new set of Tein springs (2.1"/2.3") springs for a cool $100. P.S. - Anyone in the Jersey area interested in helping me install them? There's a free dinner in it for you......(removed)...interested in taking a road trip to the Jersey shore? The evening ended with about 7 of us: myself, NSimkins, AtWork, RTrac1 (MO), Greenfire, maddigital (MO), and Storm heading off to Friday's for dinner (yeah, I eat there outside of work!) and then wound down with some kickass arcade action at Dave and Buster's! We had some serious skee ball action going on, and some serious luck with the pirate game (you all knwo what I'm talking about). Racked up major tickets, and we each got to leave with some souveneirs. All in all, another fantastic meet!I'm currently downloading the pictures from my camera (over 180!) and should have them up in an hour or so. Will update here when available. To all of you who couldn't make it, sorry you couldn't be there, but now you'll regret it enough to make sure you're there next year! If you were there, share you photos, stories, and the such here!My favorite shot of the day:

One thing I always forget to mention prior to a meet, but always remember after, is that we should try at the next one to have people cover up their plates at the meet, to make it easier on us photographers. If someone wants to keep their plate out of the picture, we should encourage them to cover or remove it when they get there. That way, those of us who take pictures don't have to spend a year and a day photoshopping their plates out of the pictures. Of course, if someone doesn't care about their plate bein in the pic, they can leave it on/uncovered. Just a thought...

Finally got the pictures up! http://www.ragingfish.com/genvibe/ralli ... 01103Sorry about the quality. Me and my digital camera don't get along. Appears I previously messed with the white balance and forgot to reset it. The numbers skip because I deleted all the ones that sucked.7 pages of fun times!Enjoy!

I had a great time as well, one of the best meets I have been to as of yet! Mike summed up everything fairly well, so I'll leave you with the pics. http://nicksimkins.com/vibe/tri-state/ PS: AtWork, awesome "surprise" mods, just in time. Makes a big difference.Note: The last few pics in the gallery are of MadDigital (from MatrixOwners) and his 4 LCD screens in his Matrix. He was sporting a stylish white towel on his head to accent his interior black lights!

You can now view my pics from all the past rallies (that I've attended) here:http://www.ragingfish.com/genvibe/rallies/though I'm still working on getting up pictures from the Northeast and ohio rallies back in august. They should be up in a week or so (as soon as I find them! )Enjoy the other two in the interim though!
