Mac Users - Panther

Post by Kari »

So, who has ordered Panther yet? I just ordered my copy about 15 minutes ago. It's supposed to ship the night of release...10/24. We'll see if it actually does. I love my student discount...I got it for half price! I'm definitely looking forward to some of the new features...especially the one that allows you to shrink the windows down so you can see everything you have open and find what you need. I really need that feature. Definitely relieved to see that it isn't restricted to really high G3s and up, though. I prefer to keep my little 500mhz indigo iMac as up to date as I can. (Yes. I like blue.)

Well, I haven't ordered it yet. I'm wanting to get it for all three machines at the same time and don't quite have the funding for that at this time. Plus, my iMac G4 needs the HD replaced before I'll be upgrading anything. Definitely keep the Mac faithful here posted on what you think of it once you get it.

I ordered mine through the education store online. We have absolutely nowhere that sells Apple stuff physically in a store...it really sucks, too. But if you were going to get it online you might want to preorder...might get it faster, or then again, knowing Apple, maybe not.

I just want to say that I have 10.3 installed on my 12" Powerbook and I LOVE IT!!!So much faster, prettier, new additions to Mail are nice. Exposé kicks (removed) on such a small screen, and the new Activity Viewer is a nice way to look at all the stuff that is happening on the comp.I still plan on buying it, but so glad I have it now! :D

Cool...glad it lives up to the hype. Can't wait to get ahold of my copy...so it can take 4 hours to install like Jaguar did. Heh.

Got Panther this morning...10 hours early. I was impressed with the speed of service -- Apple shipped it overnight for free. It's AWESOME, BTW...yay.
