Invalid username/pw popup?

Post by Kari »

Is anyone else getting popup that says "invalid username/password" every time they load a page? I'm logged in just fine. I know it was my right username and password. In fact I'm posting this right now I MUST be logged in...But I get FOUR popup windows cascading down the screen every time I load a page on the forum. And it's getting really, really irritating.

Lately I have been getting a bunch of pop ups saying that whatever hostname the ads are trying to load from can't be resolved. Figured it was just my lame ISP. Haven't had any login errors

They're IM windows...they're working now but they refuse to go away.

Give me more details on this.I have received the Invalid Username error a few times myself, but not within the past week or two personally. I am also checking in that.

Feel free to let me know if you feel otherwise and we can take a look into it.

They've inexplicably quit doing it now...but I had 4 IM windows wherein the other person was the last one to talk that popped up continuously. If I closed them, they would only come back when I loaded the next page. Then I replied to one of them, and it went away. I closed the others, and now they're gone too. odd.

I don't think that what I am getting is pop up advertising, but almost every page I load in Netscape gives me a error message about some host could not be found, and the embedded ad at the top of the page does not load. No real problem, I'm ok with not getting ads becuase the pages load faster, but it means I have to close out the error message before the page finishes loading. Like I said, I think it's my lame ISP. Used the wrong term. Not pop up ads, pop up error message windows when the ads fail to load. (next day) today, with the same PC/same ISP, I am getting no error messages (althought the ad a t the top of the page shows as a broken link. My issues are not the same as kari's, no related to IM, don't want to sidetrack her thread,

I had something like that ~8 months ago. I forget the details, but in my case I think it turned out I had some security setting re accepting cookies set too high.
