Long Time Lurker, First Time Finally Made an Account and Now I Have Questions

Post by RadioBones »

Howdy GenVibe!
I've lurked these boards since I bought my 2003 Vibe GT (Lava Red) back in 2019 and after seven great years, I finally had something I needed to post about. You fine folks have helped me with a couple mechanical issues (looking at you, blend door actuator), some quality of life improvements, and a whole lot of good feelings about my little hot hatch.

I'm introducing myself for a couple of reasons: firstly to thank the community for being such a great place for Vibe owners to share the love for their cars. But also because it's time for me to part with mine since I'm moving overseas and they drive on the wrong side of the road over there.

I don't want to just give her away to someone outside of the community. She's mechanically as good as new because either trained mechanics or I have replaced almost everything there is to replace in her. (New master and slave cylinders, CV axle, all the suspension, blend door actuator (never again), ignition coils, spark plugs, valve cover gasket, and even the silver dashboard facing surrounding the radio.)

Aesthetically, she's a real looker from behind, but the sun got to her hood pretty badly, and a friendly driving Texan pulled a hit and run on the fender. (A literal fender bender.)

So, I gotta ask: would it be okay for me to list the car here? I don't want to just pop in and make a mess. I really respect this place and I couldn't bear to see her go to anyone else.

Thanks!

RB. Definitely post it here and on FB. Between the two of them you'll likely get some bites. The early Vibe GT's are becoming more scarce and there are folks out there looking for them. Glad this forum has helped you out over the years.

Thanks so much for the advice! I'll head that way and if I am lucky enough to have a Vibe GT again in the future, you better believe this is the first place I'll go.
