Upgrade for an 07 Vibe

Post by Jamoke2006 »

I've got a 2007 base model of the vibe. I'm looking to upgrade 3 things
Engine Performance - feels a little sluggish accelerating
Radio - Half of display is burned out and can only be seen at night under certain conditions, CD player is troublesome and doesn't like to accept/play CDs
Center Console Lid - the lid on mine doesn't like to lock, I'm looking to replace or upgrade it

Other than those, the car is in wonderful condition and is great.
To start, I tried looking for engine upgrades but most posts on it are from 5-10 years ago and recommended cold air intakes or short ram intakes that I can't seem to find anywhere or are ridiculously overpriced (over 1000 dollars). Some recommended a "performance kit" that isn't sold anywhere (as far as I can tell).
As for the radio, I'm looking to replace or upgrade it with something that has a CD player (requirement) and an aux connection/bluetooth (optional)
And for the lid, I'm wondering if the 03-04 lid with the "double decker" design works in my 07 Vibe as I can usually find it for cheaper in some cases
Any information or recommendations would be appreciated.

I can only help with the radio upgrade. Crutchfield kits make it easy. Get the best unit you can afford. Their cheap stuff is really cheap.

I assume you've done a basic tune-up on the engine--new plugs, air filter, PCV valve, injector cleaner, MAF sensor cleaner, cleaned throttle body,
