As I was driving one day, I noticed a puddle on my passenger floormat (it's a rubber mat). No one had been sitting there, so I thought that was odd. When I got home, I did some investigating and looked up underneath the dashboard. A hose that water drains through out of the AC unit had popped off. Water dripping out of the hose had caused the puddle. SO I put the hose back in place and thought everything was OK. A few days later I noticed that the engine noise seemed different, louder perhaps, and the noise sounded like it was coming from under the dash on the passenger side. So I stopped and looked and the hose had popped off again, but this time the water had drained under the carpet. I think I may be missing a part to hold the hose on. Can someone look under their dash and see if there is a metal piece holding the hose on? It is a black rubber hose and you ahve to pull bakc the carpet a little.

( it shouldn't ) there should be some of the hose sticking out the firewall under the hood. as for replacing the carpet, they won't. not that much water is under the carpet and what is there will evaporate.
