2009 Service Parts ID code MX0

I have a 2009 Vibe base FWD with the 2.4L. The Service Parts ID code label shows the transmission as this:

MX0 TRANSMISSION,AUTOMATIC,OVERDRIVE(MERCHANDISING OPTION)

My question is, what does Merchandising option mean in this case?

I noticed on another 2009 2,4L listing that it has this code for the transmission:

MVD TRANSMISSION AUTO 5 SPD, TOYOTA, 3.943 1ST, 0.703 5TH.

Did they have two different 5-speed automatic transmissions for the 2009 Vibe?

Yes, there are two different 5 speed transmissions used. The easy way to ID the transmissions is to count the number of bolts holding the pan on to the transmission. The shape of the transmission pan gasket is also different. That is how I identified my transmission so I could order the proper transmission filter and pan gasket for it.
