Okay...on the little platform next to the shifter...I have this little approx 1/2" circle that has 4 little holes around its edges and the whole entire thing will push in and then spring back out. What *is* that? What's it supposed to be for?By any chance is it something that is meant to hold a dash mount for a device like an iPod...?
quote:No, because if you are in park and you hit it some how, you will go into neutral.. You will be ok unless you are on a slope or incline.I don't think it quite works like that silver...I believe if the tranny gets torque lock in park, then you push that in which allows you to switch into gear by bypassing the shift interlock (which you couldn't override anyway because of torque lock).Anyone who is actually an expert on this feel free to correct me.

I read the entire thread on the cover for the weird little push-in thingy, and I'm lost. I'll have to check my car to see what you're talking about (I have a 2004, does that make any difference?). Unfortunately, the photo that somebody posted of the cover on that other thread was not accessible. Does anyone have another picture of the cover?Piper
If you want it to show up, first you attach it, as you did. Now, right click the file attachment link, click copy shortcut, then edit your post. Click the blue IMAGE button, and paste the link you just copied between the the two tags.

Not bad...just make sure in the future you crop the scanned image down to the actual image, to eliminate the extra white space that makes the image HUGE...

Piper, that color looks awesome on your Vibe! I can't believe that I haven't seen your car around town yet. Was that pic taken on the South Side? I'm a Duquesne student and am all over the Pittsburgh area on a regular basis. If you see a monotone Neptune Vibe GT zipping across the Liberty Bridge, through the tunnel, or on the Parkway East going about 100 MPH or more, chances are that it's probably me. Hope to see you around!
