I broke a gallon of milk in the backseat floorboard a couple weeks and no amount of shampoo and cleaner can get the smell out. GM no longer produces the whole carpet, so I'm trying here... Smoke-free and pet-free is preferable. Thanks for any help you all can provide.
I'd recommend taking the carpet completely out and power washing it and then let it thoroughly dry before putting it back in. You're going to be completely pulling it before you can reinstall a new carpet anyway, so you might as well try this first. I did this once when the heater core in my Escort leaked all over the floor of my car.
Otherwise, you could always try to see if Toyota could still order you a carpet for the matching year Matrix. You could also try calling your local auto salvage places. Only problem with places like that is that the cars are often left open to the elements, so the carpets may not be so great.

Thanks for the advice! I got it all out, power-washed, vacuumed, and enzyme-treated. It looks like I am missing a couple of the body plugs (no rust though!)... Where can I get replacements for those/can I fabricate something that would work?
