What Luck!

Post by wmdiess »

So I went "junking" at my favorite salvage yard. I wasn't looking for anything in particular, just replacing broken plastic in the interior.

Anyhow, I stumbled upon a 2006 Vibe just like mine, EVEN THE SAME COLOR! I don't know how long it will be there, but it nice to know I can get body match parts.

Assuming it's still there when you need it. Usually salvage yards only keep a cars so long before sending them to the crusher. Exotic stuff they probably keep longer.

Yes, I get it. Cars don't last in the junkyard long. This place practically gives parts away, so I might grab the mirrors and trim. Sort of a $50 insurance policy. I could buy the whole thing for $250 if I had a place to put it.

For $250, You may want to buy it and strip off all the body parts, structural parts, suspension parts, and glass that you may need some day.
