Will Cold Air Intakes void my warranty?

WIll a CAI void my warranty? Does it matter if I install it myself, or does it have to be done professionally?

Bunch of threads here about mods and warranty. Anyone know what will void the warentee? is a recent thread where this is talked about. The impression I get (not an expert) is that a you can't void the entire warranty. The dealer has to prove that what you did resulted in the failure. So, it would be hard for them to not repair a problem with your radio as a result of you installing a CAI. A lot of folks have installed CAIs, and haven't heard anyone regret doing it. How difficult it is to do depends on skill level, but most say it's easy enough, a couple of hours. It also seems that there are lots of detailed info here on installing Injen CAIs. Be sure to check out the search function link, you'll find all kinds of warranty and CAI info.and welcome to genvibe!

The only things you void on your warranty are the parts you modify. So if you would have problems with your intake or MAF you probaly are not covered. If you have a CAI and your windows don't roll down or something then you are covered. Basically anything you modify is void. anything that is not modified is still covered. many discussions on this before
