New Insurance (re: insurance cancelled on lowered vehicle)

Post by lilmissy »

An update for those who responded to my previous post a couple days ago...I was able to get new insurance on my lowered Sunfire through another agent, who had no problems with the car being lowered. The only condition was that I needed to get the car appraised, because there was so much "customization" on it. The premium was higher than my other agent, HOWEVER, when specifically asked, I was told it was NOT higher because I lowered my car, or because of any other customization. It was only because the rates have gone wacko lately. In fact, the increase in the yearly premium for my car, was approx. the same as the increase for the second car we put on the policy.so, for those that have lowered their car, and aren't sure whether to tell their current agents, (and, if i had to do this all over again, i never would have asked "hypothetically" at all...) or are not sure if they can get insurance, there ARE companies out there that will insure you and not rob you blind just because you want your car to look good!

your premium might be a little higher too since you have a lot of mods. it raises the street value.
