Broken Rear Passenger Side Window Attachment Bracket

Do you guys know where can I buy the window attachment?? or Do I need to buy a whole window?

I have 07 Vibe and when I opened the Rear Passenger Side Window, it disappeared to the door

I opened the door assembly and found out the welding part of the window attachment was broken. I never had this problem before with any cars.

I used J-B weld to put it back. however it didn't stay for a while.



Any information would be very helpful!

Left passenger? Like, rear driver's side? Passenger generally means right side of the car.

Anyway, the part is called the regulator. It's generally easiest to replace the regulator and motor together, but cheaper to do just the regulator. You'll probably have to drill out some rivets and replace them with bolts.

It's a rear passenger Side window. I checked the regulator from internet but it's not coming with the window attachment bracket.

The motor and regulator is working great but not the attachment bracket....

I'm having trouble figuring out what that part is. It doesn't seem to be the regulator itself, nor does it seem to be the window support (since we can still see that). I can't really identify it on diagrams.

The metal channel is bonded to the bottom of the window glass. From the looks of your picture, I would say the channel itself has broke in to two parts. You may try to have the two metal parts welded back together but the heat from welding could break the glass or break the bond of the metal channel to the glass. If you remove the metal part from the glass and then weld them back together, you will need to glue the metal channel back onto the glass. In the service manual there is information about the adhesive to bond the metal channel to the glass:

"Important: Before installing the window into the door, check to see that the bottom channel
is securely attached to the window. If the channel is loose, note the location of the channel
on the window and then remove the channel from the window. Clean all remaining adhesive
from the channel. Apply a bead of Automix Channel Bonding and Sidelite Adhesive, 3M
P/N 08641, or equivalent, to the channel and install the channel onto the window. Refer to
manufacturer's instructions for adhesive cure time."

If it was mine, I would check the salvage yards for a used window glass and just replace the whole thing.

It is most likely just a defect. There could be misalignment between the window track and the regulator that is pulling sideways on the channel. This could cause it to weaken over time and break.

A source to check for salvaged parts on line is http://www.partshotlines.com/. This will at least give you an idea of what the part will cost and where you could get it if you can not find it locally.

I'll leave this here in case anyone has the same problem with a front window though.

It sounds like you're talking about the plastic bracket piece that attaches the glass to the regulator. If so, the problem could be 2 things. Either it's in one piece and just came unglued from the window or the bracket broke/shattered.

If it just came unglued, you can re-attach it, same thing happened to me and gorilla glue did the trick.
If it's broken you would need another window, the bracket is not sold separately by Toyota.
