The driver side door panel rattles when I play a cd with a lot of bass (not the fish). Does everybodys door rattle like that, or should I get it fixed?
I do have a rattle in the driver panel, but it happens regardless of whether the radio is on or off.Dealer claims they can't hear it.I'll have to pull off the panel myself and see if i can find it...

I had a rattle in my drivers side front door too. It sounded like a nut rolling around when I stopped and started. The dealer took it apart and it was some sort of loose wire or something that was getting shifted around when the car moved. They secured it, and there's been no problems since. I do still, however, have a rattling sound on the right front side. It soudns like it's in the wheel wheel or under the dash. It only happens on some bumps, but I still can't find what the heck it is.Hope this helps - CHEERS!
Cool, thanks. I might have to go and check with my dealer to see if they can fix it. I cant listen to any music with bass without it rattling every beat.
BOTH of my front doors rattle when I listen to the radio. It's not bad on hot days, but in the winter when the temps get cold I can get the doors to rattle with very minimal volume on the stereo. My dealer says that rattles are not their problem. I will just have to tear them apart myself one of these days.

That sucks. Wonder why some dealers are like that and others will bend over backwards to help you. I have an appointment with the service dept. tommorrow, hopefully it is just a loose panel that can be tightened. Think I might ask them about the automatic headlights too. I read on here someplace that they have a mod out that will correct the problem.
My guess is the rattle in my driver door is a missing clip that is supposed to hold on the plastic...but having not opened the door yet (I keep saying I will), I dunno!

I had a rattle in the passenger side front door of my Vibe whenever I would play music with any kind of bass in it. The speaker did not sound blown but more like something behind it was loose. The service advisor listened to it and decided to go ahead and order a whole new speaker assembly for the car without even opening up the door panel. I took the car back to the dealership after the part arrived, got it installed and no problems since.
AAAHHHHHH!! Fixed. The dealership said there was a metal panel in the door that wasn't tightened down all the way. It seemed to have solved the problem. It is now safe to crank up my Portishead.

No, my rattle happened only with a cd about 95% of the time. Only if I hit a large bump did I hear it without music playing. I haven't heard it since so hopefully it has been corrected.
I have some sort of rattle. I thought it was in the B-plr, but I have been paying more attention and I think it might be in the rear, driver-side door panel. I keep my seat as far back as it will go, so I'm sitting in the right spot to catch it if it is the door and not the pillar. I have been too lazy to pop anything off and check it out though. Plus it only happens for like 2 or 3 days at a time then stops, so I would bet my first born (if I had any) that the dealer would not be able to find it and/or fix it.
You might as well take it in. They will probably pull off the door panels and check to make sure that everything is tightened down. (as in my case) You might as well have them do it too just in case something is really wrong. Or if you are like me and get way over your head and can't fix it.
or in my case, they send some 80 year old guy out in the car to "hear" the rattle, and amazingly, when i go to pick the car up, they list it as "NPF: NO PROBLEM FOUND."So I haven't a choice but to do this on my own!

So I was cleaning out the voicemail box on my cell tonight and I had a message from Jeff Strausser I never heard! He said that for the first 8 months of production or so, there was a problem with the wiring harness for the door speakers not being taped down. This usually resulted in the harness banging against the sheet metal of the door, or the door panel itself. It often could be silenced by pressing on the panel. He said that the solution is to have the dealer disassemble the door and tape that harness down with a foam tape. That should solve the problem.Even if your car is beyond the 8 month window, perhaps the tape holding it came loose or something...

i have this too, when im listening ot loud bass its so annoying. Its not a blown speaker its something in my passenger side door, but i got my vibe in march. thats more then 8 months i think rigth?
I took off my door panels, but there really isn't anything to tighten down. I did not take off the blue film, because of the gooey thing hoding the flim down. seems all mechanical are under the blue film. did you guys tried taking off the blue film? the gooey thing is REALLY sticky.

I have a rattle in my front passenger door that rattles with the beat of the music that is being played. The rattling is coming from the speaker area in the door panel, yet sound quality from the speaker is still fine so there must be something loose near the speaker in that door. I have to add that to my list of things for the dealer to fix.

Yep, I have one in the passenegr side door up front. Only notice it when I play music with a lot of bass, too. I thought my wife might have somehow blown the speaker, but when I took it in to the dealer, they said they couldn't hear anything unusual. I don't hear it a majority of the time, but sometimes a song will just keep it rattling the whole time with every hit. Must be a certain frequency that causes it to rattle. Otherwsie, my whole Vibe rattles, especially after installing the Eibach drop springs and 19" Axis Spider rims!

I had a rattle in my door which I've never been able to fix...it occurs right at the base of the window, right against the B-pillar. I can put my hand right there on the panel and stop it...but neither my dealer nor myself have ever been able to pinpoint the source.Anyway, in regards to bass-response rattles...I got a tip from someone last year that there was a problem in some of the earlier models there was a problem with the way they mounted or wrapped the speaker harness in the front driver door...with a heavy bass response, the harness would rattle against something in the door...the solution is to either better tape the harness or wrap it in some heavier foam...For those feeling adventurous, you could pull the panel off yourself and check that out...might save you a dealer trip...

Thanks for the tip, I need to rip both of my door panels off and give that a shot... As it stands now, if I have something with a moderate amount of bass, I have to push my leg against the door and put some weight on the door panel to make it stop vibrating...
