Does Anyone Recognize this Vibe's Stereo?

Post by glasswave »

It is in a 2003 Vibe AWD, I am looking at purchsing.

I am wonder if it is stock or aftermarket?

Also if stock, does anyone know what features it has, specifically:
Does it include the optional Nav system?

Play MP3 Cd's?

Have an aux input?

Include a speaker upgrade?

Any other info on how it sounds , works etc is appraciated. Thx.

That is the stock navigation unit. I do not believe it plays MP3s or has an AUX input. You may be able to buy an adapter to plug an AUX cable into the CD Changer input on the back.

this is the radio/nav sytem i have the same in my 03 GT. Look under the passenger seat and there should be a 6CD shuttle under there. it will play mp3 disks that are created with a CD creation program. i use Roxy for mine, media player for some reason won't close out the disk properly and it won't play them but have pretty much no prob with the Roxy. will run into some mp3 that just wont play but not many. Make sure they have the nav disk for it or the Nav us useless. i would put 1 disk in the dash and 6 in the shuttle and now i have 7 disk to listen to on trips. you will not be able to update the Nav system beyond 04/05 disk and it will cost you $300-$400 for the new disk. find if its just for basic driving it works just fine but looking for any address newer beyond 05 it wont find them. if you have any questions let me know. it is a nice system wish mine still worked but my radio went out and had to replace with a 6CD in dash couldn't find a Nav system to replace it with. still use it for trips just swap it out and take along lots of disks to play.

Almost forgot with the nav unit it has a maintains setting. you just put in the milage you got oil, tires, tune up what ever and it keeps track and lets you know when its coming up for next service. Sound is great, you have to see if it was upgraded to monsoon system. It will adjust volume as you speed up to compensate of the noise. many options for the eq. and preset ones as well. map funtion is good for the time it was made, no real colors on the map they should have the supplemental manual if not here is a link for it this is the one that came with it.

any other questions just ask. like i said love mine and even with the radio not working still use on trips. One day hope to get a new one .
