Missing Part Under Passenger Dash

Post by Feuerwolf2008 »

So, I recently purchased my 2005 Pontiac Vibe and am really liking it (other than the vibrating idle that it has, hoping just having a dirty fuel component). Other than that, one thing is bothering me. I am missing a tube of some sort under the passenger side dash. It blows cold air on the passenger's feet and I don't really know what it is. I have tried searching it all over but have yet to find anything for it. I found a picture that has it in there. The little white arrow is pointing to the plastic tube that I DONT have.

I think that is the drain for the A/C condensation. So, not only does it blow cold air, if you run the A/C it will drip on your passengers feet as well.

Now, thats what I thought at first, but I actually found the condenser drain and it is to the left of here. This is actually a bit closer to the door than the center console.

I went out and looked at my car. It is a drain tube that attaches to the blower motor. It is labeled in this thread:

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=29211&p=476502#p476502" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;\

I think it may really be for cooling the fan motor, though. It doesn't seem well positioned to be a drain and I'm not sure what it would drain anyway.

That might actually be it! Now I just need to figure out how to replace it. I found a picture of the blower motor on google and I can see the tube sticking off the side of it. Unfortunately, I cannot find that piece by it self. Do you think I could use a rubber tube (thought not sure where to get one of those XD)

I would definitely just replace it with a decent rubber tube. Home Depot or other hardware stores will carry various types. Good luck!
