Newb here. I have owned an 04 Vibe for 5 years and put on 80k miles with only doing breaks tires struts and a battery. Great car and my daily driver as diesel for the F-350 is not a wise idea at 200 miles a week. Last night I ran down to the store for a few items and the blower was just kaput. Worked fine when I drove it earlier in the day.
I looked at the 40amp fuse for the blower and it is good.
Remove the glove box and then remove the cabin air filter from the AC duct work under the dash. Turn on the AC and the fan to high and stick your fingers down inside the air filter opening and try to spin the fan motor squirrel cage. If it starts to run then yes, the fan motor is going bad. My son's was intermittently working and he could get it to start by hitting under the dash for a while. Then it got to the point he had to manually start it, and then I bought him a replacement on ebay for about $45 or so.
If that does not work, then you can check for power at the fan motor, and check the resistors for the fan speeds for power.

When my 05 base blower motor quit running, I confirmed that it was the motor by kicking the dash under the glove box with the fan switch turned on. The motor would start and run normally until the car was restarted again. I got tired of kicking the dash after a week or so and I then pulled the motor and found the brushes were hanging up. Sprayed brushes with WD40 and it has run fine for a year now. YMMV.
