Just installed a short ram today

but I am having some problems with it. I connected the sensor and the vacuum hose to the short ram but now there are two small hoses that was taken off the bottom of the air filter box. What am I supposed to do with these two hoses??? Also, after revving my engine, I hear a scratching noise kinda sounds like grinding metal coming from the filter area... any ideas why? Please somebody help me out... Also, it's makes this sucking noise when I press the gas and when I shut it off it makes thi sharp sucking scratching noise...Does it make a big difference if I used the stock hoses instead of the bigger ones provided by the company?
