Post by Merzbow »

Where did you guys get your colored valve covers at???? They look so awsome. Do you just spray paint them or what? Im goin with the red and black theme. My Vibe is Abyss and sinse the gauges are red ive decided to go with red. I have a few red bass lights and fuzzy dice lol. eventually im painting it candy apple red with abyss flames on it becase scratches show up too easily...Anyways i want to get red valve cover, if you can tell me where I would really appreciate it

Paint them yourself. Mask off the letters using masking tape or use the vaseline method. Take your time and spray light coats. Let dry and install. Feel the power of your most recently completed mod...or not.Do a search and it should come up with more detailed instructions.

Definately the engine cover Jon. If you have a GT, you could replace them like I did. Mine are made by Injen and I got them from Adventon.com. I wanted to keep my original one for the winter and have something flashy for the summer. Here is a pic of mine.

First wash the heck out of your cover to get any oil, dirt , and grim off of it.I sanded mine prior to painting, I found the paint 'sticks' better. Then take your time and build up the coats of paint until you get the shine you want.I found it MUCH easier to order some VVT-i decals instead of trying to mask them or paint them by hand. Here's my results.

Then go to "Side Covers - Toyota", "Spark Plug Covers - Toyota" and "Oil Cap - Toyota". Look for the parts for the Matrix XRS. Hope that helps! If you have any other questions, you can IM me as well.

I want to say they were around $190 for everything. All the accessories I bought are top notch quality. Well worth it for the look and satisfaction. The covers are a little less expensive in the polished finish, but I wanted something different. I like the way the blue looks under the hood.

yah they r different engines but the covers on for each engine look the same just with different letters letting u kno what engine it is. i looked at pictures of both and unless the mounting screws for the gt and base engine r different for the injen aluminum covers and spark covers then i dont see why they cant fit.
