has anyone had experience disabling their speed limiter? any results, good or bad? i'm not condoning speeding, but topping out at 90 was a little weak for my taste.
The limiter's there for a reason, usually because of the speed rating of the tires or so you don't destroy an overstressed part at speed. I recall that Vibes speed limiters are set around 110mph for base models.
I honestly didn't know there was a speed limiter. It is highly unlikely I would ever discover it for myself. Can't help you on modifying the device.
I won't make any judgements on your desire to remove the limiter but, please keep your high speed work on the track and not the streets we share.

Yes I have but I have a piggy back ECU with an option to do that...If you want to do it to your can you will need to trick the ECU in to thinking that it is not going faster than it really is. Maybe some kind of voltage cut on the speed sensor wire might do it. Basically as the voltage rises it never reaches the point to shut the car down. I am however in no way an expert in electronics I just like to tinker with everything. Maybe someone with more knowledge in diodes and resisters might chime in.
