LeaveMyHatOn - 2003 Abyss Base

Post by LeaveMyHatOn »

I have a 2003 Base model with Moon & Tunes. Bought 4/13/12 at 92k. 110k as of 4/21/13. All stock, aside from JVC KD-S29 HU. I can't wait to dig into this thing!

Welcome to GenVibe :D Where you from (update profile please). Mileage & price you paid? We're curious about those things around here. Keep us informed as to what you do to the Vibe. I see in another thread that you'll be changing out the tranny fluid for starters. Good luck!

Edit: Added date car was bought and mileage.

Should anyone wonder, the dates ARE correct. I've had my Vibe for just over a year. I lurked on these forums for a long time, as a reference for repairs. It's pretty much always been an assumption of mine that there was nothing to really mod or upgrade on my car. (I know, I couldn't have been more wrong.) Hence why I am just now joining.

Intended modifications: Overhead lights/LED swap, footwell lights, replace the hideous stock wheels and hubcaps with (hopefully) OEM alloy wheels, partial debadge, SRI, possible Throttle Body Spacer, Catback Exhaust, lowering springs. Will update as performed.

Needed repairs: Belt tensioner needs replaced, may have stripped out block. Either way, I'm looking into HeliCoil and the like. May need a TPS, may need O2's.

Minor annoyances: Driver's side window control panel doesn't stay in place. It's still held on at the top, but the bottom swings out.

Lighting problems: Driver's side window switch not illuminated, cigarette lighter outlet not illuminated, far left climate control bulb out.

I know this might be a little extensive, but I figured I'd post a general list so that anyone with any insight might be able to give some advice.

You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar. Looks like I'm juice shopping first thing in the morning!
