Front seat belt buckle

Post by beclark »

My driver's side seat belt buckle has gotten "sticky". My problem comes in ordering the part: is this the "buckle left" or the "buckle right"? (One would assume "left" as the driver's seat is left; but in this case the buckle itself sits to the right of the driver's seat. So...hmm.)

Thanks,

Brian

Welcome to GenVibe :D I too would assume "left". Did you try cleaning out the latch/buckle assembly yet? Especially if you're a new owner of this Vibe it could have been the victim of a coffee/beverage spill directly over the latch. This is common seeing that our beverages are located in the center console and when you figure a few thousand sips could have led to some spillage :x After time it would "gum up" and become almost inoperable. Things to look at before replacing it. Also post pics of your ride and update profile showing location. Again welcome to GenVibe :D

I too have been the victim of coffee spills, in the seat belt buckles and the down the E-brake abyss.

Thanks, I'll attempt a thorough cleaning before I give up an order a new part!

According to GMPartsCenter.net, the driver's side is considered the left side and the passenger side is considered the right side.
