New to site Vibe owner since 04!

Post by michellem »

Hello friends,
I bought my 03 vibe as a one year old rental return in need of a new bumper. It served me well for over 8 years before my son struck a deer with it at highway speed and I didn't have comprehensive insurance on it so I chose to sell it as a repairable....boy have I regretted that decision ! In the meantime I bought a used Aveo that I didn't care for and have already sold. I am currently out looking to buy another vibe and in my neck of the woods they are few and far between ! The people who drive them tend to hang on to the car like I was intending to do, and the trade ins at the dealers are at a premium price point. We had 236k miles on and I am certain it had at least a 100k more left in her. Aside from a few small things breaking like the hood prop and some door trim, I never had any major problems. Great car for trips to Home Depot since we don't always have access to a truck. All around a very dependable car and I am hoping to find another one very soon.

Welcome to GenVibe Michelle! That sucks to hear about your Vibe getting wrecked. I hope at least your son was okay? As tpollauf said, let us know where you're at so we can better help you in your search for a new Vibe. Good luck with your search and let us know if and when you get another one ;)!

Wonder if Michellem ever found another Vibe. A great place to look is in cargurus.com. You can filter the car you want to search for by year, price, odometer miles and how far away you wan to look from where you live, among others, like automatic or manual equipped and even color!

It's a pretty good site and even gives you an idea if the price on the car is near book value or if it's well below book value: a great deal, or way above book value and a poor deal. The cargurus.com site also shows how many days it's been for sale. Most cars listed on cargurus.com have good exterior and interior pictures of the car for sale. Very helpful for determining the condition of the car and how well it was treated.

Hey you guys ! Yes I did find another Vibe at the end of February. I didn't realize yall were answering my post or I would've responded to the request for my location which is northern Minnesota near Cloquet, I ended up driving 2 1/2 hrs south to Minneapolis to look for cars posted on CraigsList and that is where I found my second Vibe! I tried to line up several to look at and all fell though except this one, I liked it and the price was right! My new Vibe-rator ;) is 05 white/charcoal, base with the moon and tunes 180,000 mi. (my 03 was silver/grey and didn't have moon and tunes, so that feels like an upgrade ! I don't know how to upload any photos to this site yet but I will figure it out and post some pic.

My son was totally fine thank you! which is another reason why I really wanted to buy another Vibe, in addition to the reliablity, good mpg and just being a fun stylish little car! Found my new Vibe-rator and I'm in love ;)
