It seems impossible to sort through the information/disinformation concerning the continuing tragedy that is the Fukushima nuclear disaster. If I had a Geiger Counter, I would troll the Japanese car lots to see if any of the radiation is coming here in the new cars. Anyone out there done this yet?

Practically everyone here in the US has forgotten about Fukushima so I would guess that nobody is checking. Sad to see that since this is going to be an environmental catastrophe for, well, pretty much forever...

There was a boatload of radioactive Hyundais that showed up somewhere in South America shortly after the accident... They became hot while docked in Japan. Radioactive air filters were found in cars on the west coast. Haven't heard much lately.

Supposedly the cars leaving Japan are "perfectly safe." But before I plop a significant quantity of my hard earned money down on something, I want confirmation that I'm only going to get cancer from the materials used in making the car, not from being cooked internally by radiation as I sit in traffic. 8-)

Those cars (from Fukushima) should be EASY to spot...they're the ones that "glow" in the dark (wink, wink)!
...and the Devil said: "...yes, but it's a DRY heat!"
