Hello! Happy to find you all!

Post by DetroitFolly »

I just wanted to say hello! I recently bought a '03 Vibe base, manual, monotone red (the brighter red...can't remember the actual name) ABS, 17 inch wheels...so far, I love this car. Mileage is iffy, but I figure I'm still breaking her in. I am planning on buying the supercharger, as soon as its available. I almost bought the GT, until I drove them both, and actually liked the way the five speed drove better. In the city, its tough to get the car up in that 6k RPM range too often. anyway, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. At 36, I thought I might be a little "old" for this car, but its utility and sportiness has really impressed me.

Congratulations on getting your Vibe and welcome to the forum! Glad to see another Michigan member! The name of the color you got is Lava. You will get better gas mileage after you break the car in too. It took a couple thousand miles to start getting the miles per gallon I get. Be sure to check out the Michigan forum and watch for our next Michigan Rally.

Detroit, because it is where I am...Folly, because that's how my last name is pronounced (it's spelled quite differently.)

Welcome to the forum! I was getting about 26-28mpg in the winter, and about 30-32 now in the summer with my 5-speed base. Then again I probably drive like the old fart I am (42) Yes, too bad you didn't make our Michigan meet at the end of June in Fenton. Could have had a chance to ride in a blown Vibe. (auto )Carl
