Moan when letting off the accelerator

Ok I know this sound wierd but when I'm just driving on the side streets and letting off the accellerator (going 30-45) I hear a moan coming from the engine. I'm not talking about being under a heavy throttle and it being something like a motor mount bad. Just crusing down the road, coming up to a corner, letting off the gas and there is a groan or moan. I swear I'm hearing things but it is a sound. I don't even know where to look. (2005 Base Vibe - Automatic)

Start by narrowing it down to either a drivetrain problem (wheels, suspension, transmission) or an engine problem. See if you can duplicate it in your driveway by accelerating in park and then letting off of the gas. If you get the same sound it's something in the engine, otherwise it's the drivetrain.

Are you sure it makes the sound when you're approaching the turn and not when you're actually 'turning'. Make some small quick back and forth movements on a clear road and see if you can duplicate it.

It's pretty much any time I coast... directly related to going from just barely on the gas to off of the gas.
