Hi there . . . I have a Pioneer 2400BT installed in my '03 vibe. Love it, but now I'm adding the Pioneer XM Radio unit which integrates with the HU.
I've hacked up the stereo's harness a bit too much after trouble shooting a few issues early on and adding a junk iphone video-out cable that never worked properly. Anyway, I now have a replacement. Thing is, the replacement (generic harness off ebay . . . ugh) harness doesn't come with the light green parking brake wire.
BUT, there is a yellow/black wire in the spot where the parking brake should be (according to a pin layout diagram I found). I know normally the yellow/black wire is for a "mute" function. but since it's in the spot where the parking brake wire should be, can I just use it as a parking brake wire? I don't know if there's anything special about the light green wire from the standard wire. Like, if it's rated differently or something?
I could order the proper part from Pioneer, but I'd like to get this XM accessory attached and working before the weekend.
