Screeching and Clicking...

Post by flabs »

Hi. New member. I joined today for some assistance in fixing two recent annoyances with my vehicle.

Annoyance One involves a loud screeching noise coming from the right front speaker even if the radio is off. I have done a search and it seems like there is a grounding issue with the amp maybe? Can someone advise me on how to fix this? Where can i find the amp and the grounding connection?

Annoyance Two involves a loud clicking sound when i do not have the recirculation button engaged. For example, when i am running the defroster it is a rapid staccato clicking sound from the dashboard.

You can imagine the wonderful collection of noises i experienced on a cold morning like today!
Any advise would be greatly appreciated. I would like to fix these myself if possible. Thanks, and have a great day.

Number two is a broken recirculate/ fresh air supply gear. There are several threads on here about how to fix it by flipping the gear around 180 degrees on the motor shaft. Just search for recirculate and you should find them. Good luck on it.
