interior leak at door frame

Post by kctuttle »

Has anyone experienced leaks (mine is substantial) at the door frame above the driver and passergers' heads? It JUST started this weekend (no leaks before this) when we had several days of rain. Can't tell if it is running from the moon roof or if I have a leak at the seam on the frame. It is NOT leaking at the window seals. The actual drip (steady stream at times) is at on the frame in the upolstered area over and up from the visors. Any suggestions about how to start correcting this?

Welcome to genvibe!

The moonroof has a leak catcher with drain hoses, as they expect the seal of the glass to the roof to not be perfect. There have been instances of leaks resulting from clogged drain hoses. There should be four drain hoses, from about each of the four corners of the moon roof. I haven't had any trouble with mine, but the typical resonse is something like: Look for debris clogging the drains at the roof, or try to figure out where they come out under the car and blow them clear.

Thanks! I had already found the drain holes and used a compressor to blow them out. Couldn't find the other end of the drain line though. Any idea about the location for those? So far, the leaks in the frame are no longer! I still may be getting some leakage on the driver floorboard - hence me trying to find the other end of the drain line. Think I'm gonna try using some line from my weed-eater to "snake" the drainline... I truly appreciate your input!
