Turbocharger Kit For Vibe?

Hello all, I am awaiting the 04 vibe's to arrive at my local dealers before I purchase one, however this being my second car I wanted to know if GM has any plans to offer a turbo for the VVTL-i GT Vibes?If not could someone point me in the right direction for a full list of specifications on the 2ZZ? I have no problem with fabricating a kit, But I have a feeling the compression ratio is just too high in its current configuration.Thanks!Davin

There are about 20 threads regarding the 2zz and forced induction. do a search using the search feature on the upper right hand corner of the site. To answer you GM question the answer is NOPE!! You are right regarding the high compression. You can get a turbo kit for @ 6-7 grand that also includes new pistons, but that is a crazy price. When you do a search you should find the info for the kit I'm referring to.

If you head over to MatrixOwners.com check out a guy named "raamaudio", his name is Rick and he developed a Turbo kit for the 1zz engine, and is now working on making a kit for the 2zz engine - that would work with the high compression ratios.It's worth a shot, perhaps you could even help him out!

Stafford Fabrications...who turboed my 1zz vibe, is now going to turbo a celica gt-s..which has a 2zz motor...like the vibe gt.... Faultline, can you ask your firends at Stafford if the group buy they just offered over at MatrixOwners for the Matrix XR will work on a base Vibe too? Some members here may be interested in it

Some members here may be interested in it Yes the kit is identical...you have to remember that i am the 1st prototype for all the 1zz kits they offer now for Vibe, Matrix, corrolla, and celica....The vibe, matrix and 03 corrollas are the same exact kit, the others are different.....the piping and fitment was designed to work in the former three. All though there are differnces in the engine bay, the kit fits perfectly for each one ...and so to head off a few questions, I can tell you that even though are ecu's are different, the fuel kit works mechanicly and works with the ecu...it works well in each car, even though the ecu's are different.I can only guess that Stafford did not announce the group buy on gen vibe, is because of posting rules, and. knowing that word gets around. Anyone over here can be one of the 1st three to claim the kit at the offered price
